Sodium benzoate
CAS:Sodium benzoate is a food additive that is used as an antimicrobial agent and preservative. It has been shown to have synergistic effects when combined with sodium citrate for the treatment of cancerous skin lesions in mice. This synergistic effect has also been observed using electrochemical impedance spectroscopy on mitochondria from rat brain cells. Sodium benzoate has also been found to inhibit the production of neurotrophic factors such as nerve growth factor and brain-derived neurotrophic factor, which are required for neuronal development. Sodium benzoate can be used to identify DNA mutations by fluorescence probe labeling and synchronous fluorescence imaging.Formula:C7H5NaO2Purity:Min. 98%Color and Shape:White Clear LiquidMolecular weight:144.1 g/molSodium benzoate, 99%, for biochemistry
