M-Cymene

m-Cymene is a terpene that is found in many essential oils. It has been shown to have synergistic interactions with other compounds such as trichophyton mentagrophytes and α-pinene. m-Cymene has also been shown to have pro-inflammatory cytokines, which may be due to its ability to inhibit the production of hplc methods. The biological function of m-cymene is not yet known, but it has been shown to reduce inflammatory diseases in mice. This property may be caused by eugenol's ability to inhibit hydrogen fluoride, which can induce inflammation.

Applications m-Cymene is a miscellaneous reagent used in organic synthesis for oxygenation of alkylbenzenes with methylacridinium ion via photoinduced electron transfer.
