Chloroiodoacetic acid
CAS:Chloroiodoacetic acid is an inorganic chemical used as a disinfectant and analytical reagent. It is prepared by the reaction of chloroiodoacetic acid with sodium hydroxide and deionized water. Chloroiodoacetic acid has been shown to be effective against a variety of bacteria, including Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli, Salmonella enterica, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, and Vibrio cholerae. This chemical also has the ability to bind lead metal ions and remove them from solution. The level of nitrogen in chloroiodoacetic acid is not known; however it has been shown that it can react with atmospheric oxygen to produce chlorous acid (HClO) gas.Formula:C2H2ClIO2Purity:Min. 95%Molecular weight:220.39 g/molChloroiodoacetic acid
