CAS:Piperidin-4-ol hydrochloride is a selective 5-HT2C receptor antagonist. It has been shown to inactivate the 5-HT2C receptor, which is associated with the regulation of neurotransmission and gastrointestinal motility. Piperidin-4-ol hydrochloride binds to the 5-HT2C receptor and prevents acetylcholine from binding to it, preventing the activation of the receptor. This drug also acts on chloride channels, which are involved in neurotransmission. Piperidin-4-ol hydrochloride inhibits acetylation of proteins by reacting with thiols on proteins and deactivating them. It also causes persulfate to react with hydrogen chloride, producing persulfate salts that are reaction products.
