CAS:Citral is a natural compound that is found in the essential oils of a variety of plants. It has been shown to have antimicrobial activity, and has been investigated for its use as an insect repellent. Citral is also known to bind DNA and inhibit the enzyme activities of c. glabrata. The biological properties of citral are still unclear, but it has been shown to cause a mild increase in water vapor and induce mitochondrial membrane potential in vivo human cells. Citral is also able to inhibit the growth of wild-type strains of C. glabrata and other bacteria through inhibition of their enzyme activities and interaction with cellular membranes.Formula:C10H16OPurity:Min. 95%Color and Shape:Clear LiquidMolecular weight:152.23 g/mol
