Dibenzo[b,d]furan-2-carbaldehyde is an ester compound that has been shown to react with azides to form a reactive intermediate. This intermediate can be used as a precursor in the synthesis of other compounds, such as antimicrobial agents. Dibenzo[b,d]furan-2-carbaldehyde has also shown potent inhibitory activity against prostate cancer cells. It is not active against normal prostate cells, suggesting that it targets specific proteins found in prostate cancer cells and may be a potential therapeutic agent for patients with resistant prostate cancer.
