CAS:1,3-Diphenyl-2,3-epoxy-1-propanone is an epoxide that is soluble in organic solvents. It has been shown to have hydrolase activity and can be used as a chalcone synthase inhibitor. The reaction mechanism of 1,3-diphenyl-2,3-epoxy-1-propanone involves the formation of an oxirane ring by the addition of water to two adjacent hydrocarbons (a double bond) with the elimination of hydrogen chloride. This reaction is catalyzed by epoxide hydrolases and epoxide hydrolases. 1,3-Diphenyl-2,3-epoxy-1-propanone has been found to inhibit rat liver microsomes in vitro and has been shown to be a reactive intermediate for transfer reactions in vivo.Formula:C15H12O2Purity:Min. 95%Molecular weight:224.26 g/mol
