It is used to treat symptoms in geriatric patients with low serum levels of prolactin, such as sexual dysfunction. Suloctidil has been shown to inhibit inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) by inhibiting the production of pro-inflammatory cytokines and mediators in both mice and humans. Suloctidil also inhibits platelet aggregation, which may be due to its ability to inhibit prostaglandin synthesis.
