Perinaphthenone
CAS:Perinaphthenone is a potent inducer of the benzalkonium chloride-resistant (BAR) phenotype. It is an antimicrobial agent that acts by inhibiting the polymerase chain reaction (PCR), which is essential for DNA replication. The mechanism of action of perinaphthenone involves hydroxyl group transfer reactions, which are responsible for its potent inducers of BAR. In addition, perinaphthenone has been shown to inhibit mitochondrial membrane potential and reactive oxygen species generation in human neutrophils, making it a promising drug candidate for infectious diseases. The high values achieved by this molecule suggest that it may be useful as a model system to study the molecular basis of antimicrobial resistance.Formula:C13H8OPurity:Min. 95%Molecular weight:180.2 g/molPerinaphthenone
