CAS:3,3,3-Trifluoro-2-(trifluoromethyl)propionic acid (TFPA) is a reactive inorganic acid that can be used for the preparation of anhydrous phosphoric acid. TFPA is prepared by the reaction of hydrogen chloride and trifluoroacetic acid. The reaction mechanism involves the formation of a hydrogen chloride-trifluoroacetic acid complex ion followed by protonation to form TFPA. The activated chlorine atom in TFPA has been shown to react with amines, phosphate derivatives, and halides such as chloroformates or dichloroethanes to form organic acids. 3,3,3-Trifluoro-2-(trifluoromethyl)propionic acid can also be used as a reagent in organic synthesis reactions including those involving the preparation of anhydrous phosphoric acid. It has been shown to be used in the preparative method for structuralFormula:C4H2F6O2Purity:Min. 95%Molecular weight:196.05 g/molRef: 3D-FT91363
