Ethylenediamine-N,N'-diacetic Acid
CAS:Controlled ProductApplications Ethylenediamine-N,N'-diacetic Acid is a substance used in the preclinical evaluation of somatostatin analogs as new analogs in the detection of somatostatin receptor-positive tumors. Also acts as a reagent used in the synthesis of new class of aldehyde and aldose reductase inhibitors. References Andleeb, H., et al.: RSC Advances, 6, 77688 (2016); Gandomkar, M., et al.: Nucl. Med. CAS:Ethylenediamine-N,N²-diacetic acid (EDDA) is a diamine that is used to synthesize cyclic peptides. It has been shown to inhibit prostate cancer cells in vitro and subcutaneous tumors in vivo. EDDA binds to amines and inhibits receptor binding by competitive inhibition with low affinity. This compound also exhibits antimicrobial activity against bacteria and fungi. The pharmacokinetic properties of EDDA have been studied in rats, where it was discovered that the compound is excreted mainly through the kidneys. The structural analysis of EDDA has revealed an ethylene diamine group on one end of the molecule and two nitrogen atoms on the other end. This molecule has been found to be stable up to 350 degrees Celsius.Formula:HOOCCH2NHCH2CH2NHCH2COOHPurity:Min. 95%Molecular weight:176.17 g/mol
