CAS:5α-Pregnane-3β,20(S)-diol is a steroid that binds to the oestrogen receptor and has been shown to have a stimulatory effect on ovary function. It is also metabolized in the liver to 3β-hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase, which converts it into 5α-DHP. This metabolite can be used as a substrate for the steroid sulphatase enzyme, with the formation of 5α-Pregnane-3β,20(R)-sulphate. 5α-Pregnane-3β,20(S)-diol is found in faeces and plasma concentrations are affected by changes in diet. 5α-Pregnane-3β,20(S)-diol is also important for tissue culture studies as it can be used to induce oestrogenic effects on human endometrial tissue and plant tissue such as cotton and soybean.Formula:C21H36O2Purity:Min. 95%Molecular weight:320.5 g/mol
