CAS:7-MAC is a synthetic antibiotic that inhibits bacterial growth by binding to the 50S ribosomal subunit. It has shown antibacterial activity against gram-negative bacteria, such as Escherichia coli and Pseudomonas aeruginosa. 7-MAC binds to the 50S ribosomal subunit of the bacterial cell membrane and blocks the formation of peptide bonds in protein synthesis.
