CAS:(R)-(-)-2-Phenylglycinol is an enantiopure chiral compound that has been used in the synthesis of polymers. This polymerase chain reaction (PCR) inhibitor binds to the α subunit of DNA polymerase, preventing replication and transcription. The binding site for this inhibitor is located at the active site of the enzyme and is a hydroxyl group.
