  • 1,4-Bis[(1H-imidazol-1-yl)methyl]benzene

    CAS:
1,4-Bis[(1H-imidazol-1-yl)methyl]benzene is a luminescent compound that can be used as a fluorescent probe for studying the structures of transition metal ions. It has been shown that 1,4-bis[(1H-imidazol-1-yl)methyl]benzene has potential application in pharmaceutical preparations and as a fluorescent probe for investigating supramolecular chemistry. This compound is synthesized by reacting an acid chloride with an amine. The crystal structure of this compound has been determined by X-ray crystallography and consists of two benzene rings linked by nitrogen atoms. The hydrogen atom on the benzene ring is replaced by a carboxylate group (COOH). This results in an anion that can be used to bind other compounds to form supramolecular architectures.
