    3-[4-(2-Methoxyethyl)phenoxy]-1,2-epoxypropane is a chemical compound that is used in the industrial process of chloropropane production. It reacts with metoprolol to produce 3-[4-(2-methoxyethyl)phenoxy]-1,2-epoxypropane diol and metoprolol diol. This reaction occurs at lower temperatures than chlorination reactions, and without the use of radiation. 3-[4-(2-Methoxyethyl)phenoxy]-1,2-epoxypropane also reacts with chloropropane to produce 3-[4-(2-methoxyphenyl)phenyl]propene, which can be recycled for additional use.
