2-Chloro-4-nitro-N-methylaniline
CAS:2-Chloro-4-nitro-N-methylaniline is a nonlinear optical material that exhibits large second order optical nonlinearities. It is a mesogenic liquid crystal with a high efficiency and good homogeneity, which can be used in the production of liquid crystal displays. 2-Chloro-4-nitro-N-methylaniline has birefringence and its profile can be observed in the visible spectrum by looking at the rotation of polarized light. The molecule has one enantiomer that rotates plane polarized light to the left, and one that rotates plane polarized light to the right, giving it dichroism properties. This compound also absorbs infrared radiation, which causes it to shift from 514 nm to 532 nm in wavelength. 2-Chloro-4-nitro-N-methylaniline exhibits an intense absorption band at 1760 cm−1 due to vibrations of its CPurity:Min. 95%2-Chloro-N-methyl-4-nitroaniline
