CAS:3,4-Dinitrotoluene is a chemical compound that is used in the manufacture of TNT explosives. It can be synthesized by nitration of benzene with nitric acid and sulfuric acid, or by reaction of toluene with sodium nitrite in the presence of sulfuric acid. 3,4-Dinitrotoluene is a genotoxic agent that causes DNA damage and induces chromosomal aberrations. It has been shown to have antiinflammatory activity in mice and also inhibits prostaglandin synthesis. 3,4-Dinitrotoluene can be assayed by chromatography or chromatographic methods such as hemispherical or column chromatography. The genotoxic effects of this compound are characterized by chemical ionization mass spectroscopy (CI-MS), which provides data on the molecular weight distribution and chemical structures.Formula:C7H6N2O4Purity:Min. 95%Molecular weight:182.13 g/mol
