It has been shown to be a suitable monolayer material, which can be used in optical and electrochemical methods. 3-Thiopheneboronic acid has also been used for the synthesis of chemosensitive affinity ligands, which are attached to tumor cells for the purpose of targeting them with cytotoxic drugs.
