    Paroxetine is a drug belonging to the class of tricyclic antidepressants. It is used as a treatment for depression, anxiety, and other conditions. The drug inhibits the reuptake of serotonin in the brain by blocking the activity of serotonin transporters (SERTs). Paroxetine has been shown to lower intracellular calcium levels and inhibit locomotor activity in rats. In combination with interferon alfa-2b, paroxetine has shown promising results for cancer treatment.
