Benzyl L-(+)-Mandelate
CAS:Benzyl L-(+)-Mandelate is a nonracemic, chiral compound that inhibits the enzyme 3-hydroxy-3-methylglutaryl coenzyme A (HMG-CoA) reductase. It binds to the carbonyl group of HMG-CoA reductase, which is not sterically hindered by any other groups in the active site. The methyl group of Benzyl L-(+)-Mandelate then donates a hydrogen atom and forms a double bond with the carbonyl group of HMG-CoA reductase, resulting in an activated form. This activated form of HMG-CoA reductase then reacts with ATP to form adenosine monophosphate (AMP) and pyrophosphate (PPi). If more ATP is available, then AMP will be converted to adenosine triphosphate (ATP) and PPi will be reconverted to two molecules of PiFormula:C15H14O3Purity:Min. 95%Color and Shape:White PowderMolecular weight:242.27 g/molRef: 3D-FB60148
