2,6-Dihydroxypyridine
CAS:2,6-Dihydroxypyridine is an inhibitor of the enzyme uridine phosphorylase and has been shown to inhibit transcriptional regulation in mammalian cells. It is also a proton source for the synthesis of formyl groups and genotoxic effects. 2,6-Dihydroxypyridine has been shown to be effective as a carbon source for cell growth, but not as an inhibitor of bacterial growth. 2,6-Dihydroxypyridine binds to uridine with high affinity and inhibits the synthesis of uridine monophosphate by competitive inhibition. This leads to inhibition of nucleotide biosynthesis, which can cause inhibition of transcriptional regulation in mammalian cells.Formula:C5H5NO2Purity:Min. 95%Molecular weight:111.1 g/mol
