  • N-(2-Hydroxyethyl)nicotinamide

    CAS:
N-(2-Hydroxyethyl)nicotinamide is a nicotinamide derivative that has been used as an experimental drug for the treatment of heart disease. In vivo studies have shown that it can improve cardiac function and reduce systolic pressure. N-(2-Hydroxyethyl)nicotinamide is also a matrix metalloproteinase inhibitor, which prevents the breakdown of collagen in connective tissue. This chemical has been shown to have a protective effect against malonic acid-induced myocardial damage in rats. It also inhibits the population growth of bacteria and yeast, which may be due to its anti-inflammatory properties.
