1,3-Diacetoxypropane
CAS:1,3-Diacetoxypropane is an organic solvent that is used as a raw material for the synthesis of benzothiazine and lactam analogs. It has been shown to have antibacterial activity against Gram-positive bacteria and some Gram-negative bacteria. 1,3-Diacetoxypropane is also used in the preparation of nanoribbons, which are useful for antibacterial applications. This compound is soluble in water and can be easily removed by evaporation or extraction with organic solvents such as ether or chloroform. 1,3-Diacetoxypropane inhibits bacterial growth by binding to penicillin-binding proteins in bacterial cell walls. This binding prevents the formation of an antibiotic-inhibitor complex with the enzyme cell wall synthesis that is required for cell wall biosynthesis, inhibiting protein synthesis and cell division.Formula:C7H12O4Purity:Min. 95%Molecular weight:160.17 g/mol1,3-Diacetoxypropane
