CAS:1-(Bromomethyl)-3,5-di-tert-butylbenzene (BBTB) is a cryptand that binds to the metal ion of paraquat and viologen. Cryptands are neutral molecules that can bind to the electron donor group of a viologen. The electron density of the cryptand will be transferred to the electron acceptor group of the viologen. This results in a more stable molecule with a higher degree of order than either molecule alone. The X-ray crystal structure analysis has shown that BBTB can bind to dibenzyl and x-ray crystallography has been used to demonstrate that BBTB binds with high affinity to dibenzyl.Purity:Min. 95%Ref: 3D-FB142346
