Isopropyl Butyrate
CAS:Isopropyl butyrate is a colorless liquid with a pungent, fruity odor. It is used as an ingredient in cleaning products, such as detergents and fabric softeners. Isopropyl butyrate is a monocarboxylic acid that has a hydroxyl group at one end of the molecule. The hydroxyl group reacts with radiation, such as ultraviolet light, to form a peroxide bond, which breaks down to produce free radicals. These free radicals react with the polycarboxylic acid chains in the polymer film to break them down and form carboxylic acids. This reaction is called photodegradation or photolysis and it can be reversed by adding hydrogen fluoride (HF).Formula:C7H14O2Purity:Min. 95%Molecular weight:130.19 g/molIsopropyl Butyrate
