3-Benzoyl-2-pyridinecarboxylicacid
CAS:3-Benzoyl-2-pyridinecarboxylic acid (3BPCA) is a competitive inhibitor of the enzyme aldehyde reductase. It has been shown to be active against diabetics in vitro and in vivo, as well as being able to inhibit the glucose uptake of isolated rat adipocytes. 3BPCA has also been shown to have bifunctional properties, inhibiting both the synthesis of fatty acids and glucose oxidation in vitro. The selectivity of 3BPCA is influenced by its uncompetitive inhibition of aldehyde reductase and competitive inhibition of acetyl-CoA carboxylase.Formula:C13H9NO3Purity:Min. 95%Molecular weight:227.22 g/molRef: 3D-FB149416
