2-Amino-6-nitrobenzoxazole
CAS:2-Amino-6-nitrobenzoxazole is a compound that can be used as an anticancer therapeutic. It has been shown to inhibit the growth of dermatophytes and other fungi, including Candida glabrata and Cryptococcus neoformans. 2-Amino-6-nitrobenzoxazole has also been shown to be effective against resistant strains of Candida albicans and Cryptococcus neoformans. The mechanism of action for 2-amino-6-nitrobenzoxazole is not yet known but it may involve the inhibition of endoplasmic reticulum Caenorhabditis elegans protein synthesis or the generation of reactive oxygen species by mitochondria in C. elegans. 2-Amino 6 nitrobenzoxazole has also been shown to inhibit the growth of human cancer cells through imine formation with benzamidine.
