    4-(1H-Imidazol-2-yl)Piperidine is a molecule that has been optimized for its efficacy in cellular assays. It binds to the acceptor site of covalent binding and can be used as an inhibitor of protein synthesis. 4-(1H-Imidazol-2-yl)Piperidine has been shown to inhibit ischaemic damage by preventing the accumulation of reactive oxygen species (ROS) during cerebral ischaemia. This drug also inhibits platelet aggregation, which may be due to its tautomeric or n-oxide form. 4-(1H-Imidazol-2-yl)Piperidine has also been found to be a fluorescent molecule that can be used as a probe for molecular imaging techniques such as fluorescence microscopy, fluorescence spectroscopy, and fluorescence correlation spectroscopy.
