Ethyl-pyrazin-2-yl-amine is a mesomeric amine that interacts with other molecules through dipole interactions. It has been shown to be a good ligand for the rationalization of conformations, in particular for pyrazines and quinoxalines. The substituent on the ethyl group also plays an important role in the formation of these conformations. Ethyl-pyrazin-2-yl-amine is used as a precursor in the synthesis of aminopyridines.
