CAS:2-Chloro-6-nitrobenzonitrile is a phytotoxicant that is used as a herbicide. It inhibits the growth of plants by damaging the photosynthetic system and interfering with the synthesis of chlorophyll. 2-Chloro-6-nitrobenzonitrile is activated by acid, which converts it to a highly reactive nitro compound. This nitro group can then undergo nucleophilic attack by water or hydrogen chloride, forming an intermediate that can be oxidized to form fluorine or hydrochloric acid. The hydrolysis of 2-chloro-6-nitrobenzonitrile in dimethylformamide (DMF) produces dinitrophenol.Formula:C7H3ClN2O2Purity:Min. 95%Molecular weight:182.56 g/molRef: 3D-FC138527
