N-Didesmethyl loperamide is a synthetic opioid receptor agonist that has been optimized for binding affinity to the μ opioid receptor. The compound has been shown to bind with high affinity and selectivity to the μ opioid receptor, with no efficacy at other opioid receptors. N-Didesmethyl loperamide is an analog of loperamide, which it is more efficient than in binding and activating the μ opioid receptor.
