CAS:Galangin 3-methyl ether is a small molecule that has been identified as a new chemical entity. It has been shown to have antioxidant and anticancer properties in tissue culture and animal models. The optimum concentration of galangin 3-methyl ether is unknown, but it is thought to be between 10-500 μM. Galangin 3-methyl ether is metabolized through the oxidation of the hydroxyl group by cytochrome P450 enzymes, which leads to the formation of protocatechuic acid. Protocatechuic acid can also be found in plants such as parsley, celery, and carrots. This compound inhibits cell lysis by inhibiting protein synthesis through its effects on ribosomes. In addition, this product has been shown to inhibit proliferation of cancer cells in vitro and in vivo through its role as an antioxidant.Formula:C16H12O5Purity:Min. 95%Molecular weight:284.27 g/molRef: 3D-GAA66574
