  • 4'-Hydroxy-biphenyl-2-carboxylic acid

    CAS:
4'-Hydroxy-biphenyl-2-carboxylic acid (4HBPC) is a stabilizer that has been shown to be synthesized from 4-hydroxyphenylacetic acid. 4HBPC is used as a fluorescent probe in radiation protection and analysis, which can be used for the detection of focal points. It also has an anti-aromatisation property, which prevents the conversion of aromatic compounds into olefins during wastewater treatment. The reactive nature of 4HBPC means it can be applied in endothermic reactions to produce hydrophobic molecules. This compound has been shown to mimic the microenvironment of thione and dione by binding to sulfur atoms in proteins and nucleic acids.
