  • 3,4-Diacetoxybenzaldehyde

    CAS:
    3,4-Diacetoxybenzaldehyde is a lipase inhibitor that is used in the production of 3,4-dihydroxybenzoic acid. It has been shown to have antioxidative activity and radical scavenging activity. 3,4-Diacetoxybenzaldehyde also has supramolecular properties and can form a host-guest complex with protocatechuic acid. The inhibitory effect on lipases may be due to its ability to acetylate the hydroxyl group at position 4 or to deacetylate the hydroxy group at position 2. 3,4-Diacetoxybenzaldehyde also has an inhibitory effect on noradrenaline uptake by cells.
