  • 2'-Deoxy-2'-fluoroadenosine-5'-diphosphate

    CAS:
2'-Deoxy-2'-fluoroadenosine-5'-diphosphate (FAD) is an irreversible enzyme inhibitor that binds to the active site of the decarboxylase enzyme. FAD binds to cytochrome P450 and inhibits aromatase, which is an enzyme responsible for the conversion of testosterone to estradiol. It has been shown that FAD inactivates the enzyme by protonation at the active site. The protonated form of FAD is a nucleophile and forms a covalent bond with the substrate, thereby inhibiting decarboxylases. This inhibition can be reversed by fluoride ions, which are also used as catalysts in organic synthesis reactions involving carboxylic acid derivatives.
