CAS:Mesoporphyrin IX is a structural component of chlorophyll and hemoglobin. It is also an intermediate in the biosynthesis pathway for heme, which is an essential cofactor for many enzymes. Mesoporphyrin IX is produced in two steps. The first step is the conversion of meso-erythrose 4-phosphate to meso-erythrose-4-phosphate by a dehydrogenase deficiency. The second step is the conversion of meso-erythrose 4-phosphate to mesoporphyrin IX by a polymerase chain reaction that requires light exposure. This process can be observed in cells that are grown under low light conditions, such as replicon cells. Mesoporphyrin IX dihydrochloride (MP) has been shown to have clinical relevance as it can be used to treat certain types of eye disorders, such as experimental model, tryptophan fluorescence, x-rayFormula:C34H38N4O4·2HClPurity:Min. 95%Molecular weight:639.61 g/mol
