CAS:BDE No 1 is an environmental pollutant that has been detected in human breast milk. It is a polybrominated diphenyl ether (PBDE) and structurally similar to the polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs). BDE No 1 has been shown to have a high affinity for lipids, which are organic molecules found in the membranes of cells. BDE No 1 can be absorbed by humans through inhalation and ingestion, with the highest concentrations found in adipose tissue and breast milk. The primary route of elimination for this compound is through feces, although some may be excreted unchanged in urine or exhaled as carbon dioxide. BDE-No1 is classified as carcinogenic to humans by the International Agency for Research on Cancer. BDE-No1 is classified as hazardous substance and its production has been banned in Europe since 2006.Formula:C12H9BrOPurity:Min. 95%Molecular weight:249.1 g/mol
