3-Methyl-1-phenyl-2-phospholene 1-oxide (MPPO) is a polyester that can be used as a stabilizer, especially for polyester films. MPPO has been shown to have anti-cancer effects in cell culture experiments. It inhibits the growth of leukemia cells by inducing apoptosis and inhibiting the production of proteins related to proliferation and differentiation. MPPO also inhibits the synthesis of proteins that are important for DNA repair and replication, leading to DNA damage and cell death.
