CAS:Foy 251 is a monoclonal antibody that binds to the pancreatic enzyme, exocrine pancreatic trypsin inhibitor. It inhibits the protease activity of this enzyme, thus preventing its activation and subsequent inhibition of proteases in the stomach and small intestine. Foy 251 has also been shown to inhibit growth factor production that is necessary for cancer cell survival and proliferation. The mechanism of action is unknown, but may be related to inhibition of nitric oxide synthase or protein tyrosine phosphatase-1B.
