CAS:Bis(3,5-dimethylphenyl)phosphine is a ligand that has been used to catalyze the asymmetric synthesis of chiral phosphines. It is prepared by reacting salicylaldehyde with phosphorus trichloride in the presence of an organic base. This reaction takes place at room temperature and yields bis(3,5-dimethylphenyl)phosphine in an isolated yield of around 50%. Bis(3,5-dimethylphenyl)phosphine can also be used as a ligand for cross-coupling reactions to produce new chiral molecules. The ligand is stable in both its tautomeric form or its protonated form. It has been shown to have biomolecular applications, such as ligation reactions and enzyme catalysis.Formula:C16H19PPurity:Min. 95%Color and Shape:Clear LiquidMolecular weight:242.3 g/mol
