    CAS:
    (2-(Acetoxymethyl)allyl)trimethylsilane is a halide that is used in organic synthesis. It reacts with trimethylenemethane to form an alkene, which can be converted into other compounds. The preparation of (2-(acetoxymethyl)allyl)trimethylsilane is done by the reaction of allyl chloride and acetoxyacetone in the presence of a metal catalyst. The reaction starts with the addition of allyl chloride to acetoxyacetone followed by the addition of a metal catalyst. This process takes place in two steps, one step where 2-chloroethanol is formed and another step where 2-chloroethanol reacts with acetoxyacetone to form (2-(acetoxymethyl)allyl)trimethylsilane. This compound has been shown to have toxic effects on tissues and biological properties that are dependent on its functional groups.
