(1H-Pyrazol-5-yl)boronic acid is a pinacol that can be synthesized in the laboratory by diazotization of the corresponding nitrile. This pinacol has two isomers: 1,3-diphenyl-2-(1H-pyrazol-5-yl)propane and 3,4-dichloro-1,2,5,6-tetrahydrobenzo[b]thiophene. Pinacols are esters used as reagents in organic chemistry. They are typically prepared by condensation of an alcohol with pinacolone. The synthesis of (1H-pyrazol-5-yl)boronic acid can be accomplished through cross coupling reactions with potassium or other metal salts.
