  • Sodium 4-methylbenzenesulfinate

    CAS:
Sodium 4-methylbenzenesulfinate is a switchable, hydrogen chloride-sensitive, unsymmetrical molecule of biomolecular interest. This molecule has been shown to be an efficient method for the synthesis of polyfluoroalkyl imines and disulfides, which are important functional groups in cancer drugs. Sodium 4-methylbenzenesulfinate has also been shown to be a synthetic precursor in the synthesis of new cross-coupling reactions. It is found to be able to react with nucleophiles, such as amines and alcohols, with high rates and selectivity. This reaction proceeds via an SN2 mechanism and can be used for control experiments.
