CAS:2-(2-Aminothiazol-4-yl) glyoxylic acid is a benzene compound that contains a thiourea group and an aralkyl group. It is an optical isomer of 2-(2-aminothiazol-4-yl) acetic acid. The acetone and chloroform extracts of the reaction product showed potent antibacterial activity against Gram-positive bacteria such as Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus pyogenes, and Listeria monocytogenes. 2-(2-Aminothiazol-4-yl) glyoxylic acid inhibits bacterial growth by binding to the ribosomes in the cytoplasm, preventing protein synthesis and cell division. This compound also has bactericidal activity against Mycobacterium tuberculosis, which may be due to its ability to inhibit protein synthesis or prevent cell division.Formula:C5H4N2O3SPurity:Min. 95%Molecular weight:172.16 g/molRef: 3D-FA29941
