It is a white solid with a molecular weight of 196.3 g/mol and a melting point of 138°C. 3-(Cyclohexylamino)-2-hydroxy-1-propanesulfonic acid has been shown to be reactive in test samples, such as bowel disease and inflammatory bowel disease, by blocking the synthesis of creatine kinase. This product can be used for the treatment of these diseases by inhibiting the enzyme activity which prevents the formation of ATP, which is required for muscle contraction.
