CAS:2,2-Difluoroethyl trifluoromethanesulfonate (2,2-DTFMS) is a chemokine that binds to the CCR5 receptor. It has been shown to inhibit the growth of HIV and other viruses in vitro. 2,2-DTFMS also inhibits the replication of human immunodeficiency virus type 1 (HIV-1) by binding to the Gag protein and inhibiting its function. This drug does not affect normal cells because it does not bind to the CCR5 receptor. 2,2-DTFMS is also an anti-inflammatory agent with potential therapeutic use for neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer's disease and Parkinson's disease.
