The melting point of 2,4-dimethylbenzenesulfonamide is 132°C. This compound can be used in the preparation of ortho-sulphonic acid chlorides and other sulphonic acids as well as in the synthesis of heterocycles. The chemical properties and structural features of 2,4-dimethylbenzenesulfonamide have been reexamined.
