CAS:(R)-(+)-2-Chloropropionic acid is an activated carboxylic acid that is used as a polymerase chain reaction (PCR) reagent. It has been shown to react with the hydroxide group of DNA and form a covalent bond, which prevents DNA replication. The use of (R)-(+)-2-chloropropionic acid has been shown to inhibit the proliferation of cerebellar granule cells and proliferative activity in E. coli K-12 cells. This compound also inhibits the activity of DNA polymerase and RNA polymerase, with an IC50 value at 0.1 mM.Formula:C3H5ClO2Purity:Min. 95%Molecular weight:108.52 g/mol(2R)-(+)-2-Chloropropanoic acid
