9-(3,5-Dibromophenyl)-9H-Carbazole

9-(3,5-Dibromophenyl)carbazole is a material that when exposed to light generates photocurrents. This material has been shown to be an efficient photodetector in combination with graphene oxide. 9-(3,5-Dibromophenyl)carbazole absorbs photons and then transfers the energy of these photons to electrons in graphene oxide. This transfer of energy leads to an induced photocurrent in the device. The quantum efficiency of this material is high and can be as high as 95%. Thermally, this material has been shown to have a low thermal conductivity due to its delocalized pi-electron system.
